Security is a question with two halves: what are you protecting against, and what does each tool actually stop? BlueWallet gives you six setups. Each one closes different doors. You sent bitcoin, and it is still pending. The fee was too low for a busy mempool, so miners are picking other transactions first. Your coins are safe. The payment is waiting in line.
A bitcoin wallet does not hold one balance. It holds coins. Every payment you ever received is its own output, with its own history, sitting next to the others.
The keys stay on the hardware wallet. BlueWallet is the glasses and the mailbox. It watches the account, builds the payment, and broadcasts what the device already signed.
One seed is one mistake. A Vault needs more than one key to move the coins. Lose a phone, you can still have bitcoin. Lose the only seed, you don’t.
You already have bitcoin. You already have a recovery phrase on paper, in a steel plate, or in the app you are leaving. Import is how that wallet shows up in BlueWallet without creating a new one.
A watch-only wallet is a pair of glasses, not a vault. It can see your bitcoin. It cannot spend it. The keys live somewhere else: an old phone in airplane mode, a hardware wallet, a paper backup you do not want on this device.
Most Bitcoin security advice is about keeping hackers out: strong backups, no screenshots of seed phrases, do not type your words into a website that looks “official.” All good. All necessary.
